United Studies offers students the opportunity to take out medical and cancellation insurance with unlimited coverage at a special price.
We want to emphasize in this section the importance of medical insurance when travelling in the U.S.A. because foreign students benefit from no free medical services in the U.S.A.
America is a country that has no public health service so the smallest incident could ruin your entire travel budget and have serious consequences. Most universities, colleges, public schools and schools that offer long-term English courses require students to have personal medical insurance in order to register with them.
For summer courses or short courses this is not a mandatory requirement, but we strongly recommend that you take out medical insurance before travelling to the U.S.A. If you already have private medical insurance it is worth asking your insurance provider whether you are covered for your stay abroad, some policies are also valid for travel to foreign countries.
